You Are Not Alone: Overcoming Illness and Starting a New Era is a powerful and deeply personal story of resilience, identity, and hope.
Connor, a self-advocate with Down syndrome, was living a full and vibrant life—working, connecting with others, and embracing the world around him. But after a sudden illness following COVID-19, everything changed. What began as confusion and exhaustion turned into a long and frightening journey through chronic symptoms, unanswered questions, and a loss of self.
As Connor moves through the phases of illness—from the light of everyday life, into the darkness of uncertainty, and slowly toward healing—he invites readers into the raw, in-between moments that are so often unseen.
Through months of darkness, isolation, and uncertainty, Connor fought to find his way back—leaning on the unwavering support of his family, discovering new strength within himself, and learning what it truly means to keep going.
Written with raw honesty and heart, this story offers a window into living with invisible illness and reminds us all:
Even in the darkest moments, you are never alone.
